Our new Bolted Baseplate Sign Post has been designed in house to make life easier for sign makers. It is stronger, cleaner, easier to transport and ready to ship with no long fabrication or coating delays.
Why we changed things
Our welded baseplate signposts have been popular over the years, but they came with a few issues that most installers will know well. They were awkward to transport, sometimes had a seven-to-ten-day fabrication time and welding did not always provide the cleanest or strongest result.
We knew there must be a smarter way, so our design team went back to the drawing board.
The smarter solution
The result is our new Bolted Baseplate Sign Post system, featuring a custom aluminium post profile that accepts a bolted together baseplate with four heavy duty, high tensile steel bolts.
This simple redesign delivers major benefits for the sign maker:
- Stronger and more durable than traditional welded joints
- Cleaner look with no visible weld marks
- Easier to handle and ship thanks to its flat pack kit format
- Ready to go with stock held for fast dispatch
What is included in the kit
Each Bolted Baseplate Sign Post Kit includes everything you need for a clean, fast installation:
- 1 x 76 mm threaded aluminium post
- 1 x 300 mm x 12 mm aluminium baseplate
- 4 x M12 x 100 mm countersunk socket bolts
- 2 x 4.2 x 13 mm self tapping screws
- 1 x 76 mm post cap
- 1 x 8 mm Allen key
All you will need is an electric screwdriver and a bit of space to assemble it.
Quick assembly made simple
Assembly is quick and straightforward:
- Attach the post cap to the end of the post using the supplied self tapping screws.
- Secure the baseplate to the post with the four M12 x 100 mm countersunk bolts. Use an 8 mm Allen key or drill adaptor to tighten to the recommended 45 Nm torque.
- Once fitted, the post is ready to be installed. For concrete foundations, we recommend M12 x 130 mm throughbolts with a 12 mm masonry bit.
The system is designed for solid, level surfaces and is not recommended for tarmac installations without a concrete foundation below.
