As a key supplier to many different industries in the UK we feel it is important to adopt a progressive stance in sustainable business practices. At Sign Trade Supplies Ltd we are focused on reducing our impact on our environment and we hope to inspire our wide reaching customers to do the same. We have set out 3 main commitments to work on in the coming years.

Climate positive is a term for taking actions that not only achieve carbon neutrality but also removes additional carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

All industries produce waste and the sign industry is no different. We aim to ensure none of our business waste ends up in landfill.

With the sustainability of our business a key focus we plan to constantly improve small practices throughout our workflow to reduce energy, waste and one-use products.
01. Become Climate Positive
Sign Trade Supplies has embarked on an ambitious journey towards climate positivity by the year 2030. With a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, the company is adopting a multifaceted approach to not only eliminate its carbon emissions but actively contribute to healing the planet. By incorporating renewable energy sources and optimizing energy efficiency in its operations, Sign Trade Supplies is working towards a carbon-neutral foundation. Beyond that, the company is investing in large-scale reforestation projects and innovative carbon capture technologies, aiming to remove more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than it generates. This proactive stance not only aligns with Sign Trade Supplies' corporate values but also sets a commendable example for the industry, demonstrating that businesses can lead the way in creating a climate-positive future.
Renewable Energy Sources
Sign Trade Supplies currently use electricity generated from 100% renewable technology from Octopus energy. This removes the need to burn hydrocarbons to create electricity and drastically reduces the CO2 footprint.
Low Carbon Stance
Low carbon is an overall mindset and can be analysed through every product, service and process through a company. We aim to continually seek ultra low carbon improvements throughout our workflows.
Carbon Reduction & Recapture
We aim to go one step further than carbon neutrality by partnering with leading reforestation and carbon recapture initiatives. We can then ensure we remove more CO2 from the atmosphere and help produce a positive carbon reduction.
02. Zero Waste to Landfill
Sign Trade Supplies is resolutely committed to achieving zero waste to landfill as a testament to our unwavering dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship. We firmly believe that waste is a valuable resource that can be repurposed, recycled, or responsibly managed to minimize its impact on the planet. By aiming for zero waste to landfill, we are not only reducing our ecological footprint and conserving natural resources, but we are also taking a proactive stance in preserving ecosystems, mitigating pollution, and setting a higher standard for our industry. Recycling Systems
By partnering with industrial recycling services we can ensure our waste acrylic, ACM, cardboard, paper and metals are sorted into allocated bins and processed into base materials.
Efficient Production
When producing our fabricated systems and sign blanks we aim to yield as much product from a base material as possible. We incorporate standard sizing where possible to ensure our waste is naturally as low as possible

By lowering energy use we actively contribute to mitigating climate change. Reusing packaging materials minimizes our environmental footprint and conserves resources, aligning with our ethos of responsible resource management. Energy & Fuel Efficiency
By investing in energy efficient lighting, modern HVAC & electric forklifts we are using leading methods to reduce our energy consumption. We also encourage employee car share schemes and run our delivery vehicles on eco mode.
Packaging & Reuse
All of our cardboard packaging is produced from FSC approved sources. Our bubble wrap is at least 30% recycled along with our grip seal bags. Where possible we always take packaging that has come from our suppliers and repurpose this to ensure we don't further increase single use packaging.
Recycle
As noted in point 02. we are driving down our waste production and incorporating separation recycling practices to ensure our material waste can be proactively repurposed to secondary use.
