Advantages of Decro
Decro provides the aesthetics of natural materials with the versatility of aluminium. This opens up possibilities in architectural design that were previously impossible with natural timber and stone.
By using a Decro coated profile you can ensure a dimensionally stable profile that will not bend, warp or twist. Many timber clad façades waste a significant percentage of timber due to the physical nature of the material being open to size and shape variation.
Weight is another factor that has to be considered when specifying different timber, concrete or steel decorative accents. Each type of timber will have a unique density and weight, whereas an aluminium profile with a set wall thickness will maintain a minimal and consistent weight no matter the Decro design. The Process
The Decro© process coats aluminium profiles and extrusions with a durable, weather resistant coating that mimics natural patterns and texutres of wood, marble, stone or corten steel.
The coating process goes through 3 key stages to achieve the end result:
Pre-treatment
The aluminium profiles are chemically cleaned and degreased to maximise the quality of the powder coat stage.Powder coat base layer
The pre-treated metal profiles are powder coated to provide a protection coat and also a base colour. Once coated with the electrostatic powder the profiles are baked in an industrial oven,Design Application
After the powder coating process the profiles are ready to accept the final texture effect. A unique ink is printed onto a carrier film which is then vacuumed over the length of the profile. The profiles are then sent back through the industrial oven which permanently transfers the printed effect onto the powder coat base layer.

Custom Profile coating
Our 76mm and 50mm square box section is available as standard in natural oak and teak effect. However we can apply the decro coating to any aluminium profiles when required in medium-large quantities.

The natural oak and teak finishes are our most popular sellers and also what we stock in our square post profiles. However there are up to 18 different wood effects available to choose from when requiring larger quantities for projects
