If the crossing is at a site with restricted visibility or where there is heavy traffic then the amber flashing lights can also be used.

9.2.1. The cattle sign to diagram 548 (S14‑2‑41, see Figure 9-1) will generally provide sufficient warning of cattle crossings. However, at sites with restricted visibility or where heavy traffic flows make it difficult to herd cattle across the road, the sign to diagram 4005 (S14-2-25, see Figure 9-2) (which comprises flashing amber lights and the sign to diagram 548) may be used. 9.2.2. A warning sign and plate to diagram 548.1A (S14‑2‑41, see Figure 9-3) must be used in advance of a cattle crossing where flashing lamps are used.
