Diagram 782 shows a risk of grounding for long vehicles over railway crossings, humped bridges or tracmcar crossings.

As per the UK Highways Traffic Sign Manual Chapter 4 - Warning Signs page: 81 The following advice is given:

20.3.1.  Diagram 782 (S2‑2‑55, see Figure 20-16) is used at railway or tramway level crossings where there is a risk of long or low vehicles grounding and causing an obstruction which might not be cleared before the next train or tram arrives at the crossing. It is necessary to consider both the approach profile and the relative levels of the running rails. For guidance on the use of this sign with hump bridges see 7.1.
