Diagram 952 is for the prohibition of buses through a certain road. Often used where buses may be a nuisance to local residents in built up areas or where bus drivers are using a "short cut" and causing unnecessary traffic in residential areas.

5.4.1. The sign to diagram 952 (S3‑2‑17, see Figure 5-12) is used to give effect to a prohibition of buses. For this purpose, a bus is defined in Schedule 1 as: a) a motor vehicle constructed or adapted to carry more than 8 passengers (exclusive of the driver); or b) a local bus. A local bus is defined in Schedule 1 as a public service vehicle used for the provision of a local service not being an excursion or tour, where “local service” has the meaning given in section 2 of the Transport Act 1985. Note that a local bus may be designed to carry fewer than 8 passengers.
