Junction Through A Bend Ahead Permanent UK Road Sign

The junction through a bend ahead is used to warn road users of a junction that runs through a bend in the road. This allows motorists to reduce their speed and road position to allow them to safely follow the sharp turn in the road whilst keeping aware of the joining and exiting traffic. Diagram 512.3 has 2 variations for a harsh left turn and harsh right turn.

As per the UK Highways Traffic Sign Manual Chapter 4 - Warning Signs page: 18 The following advice is given:

3.1.6.  Where junctions which warrant signing in accordance with 2.2.1 occur on sharp bends, use of diagrams 512.1, 512.2 or 512.3 (S2‑2‑9 to 11, see Figure 3-2, Figure 3-3 & Figure 3-4) avoids the need for separate signs. These signs may be used with diagram 511, 513.2, 513.1A, “Adverse camber”, “Keep in low gear”, “Oncoming vehicles in middle of road” plate or “For” and a distance plate.
