What is EN40 compliance and why it matters?
EN40 compliance refers to a European standard that governs the structural safety of lamp posts and columns, including the additional wind loading caused by banners and signage. An EN40-compliant banner bracket system has been designed and tested to ensure it does not compromise the structural integrity of the lamp post when installed correctly.
This matters because local authorities, councils, and highways departments often require EN40-compliant systems for street furniture installations. Using a compliant banner bracket helps reduce risk, ensures public safety, and avoids potential liability issues if a failure were to occur during high winds or adverse weather.
Can I use this system for double-sided banners?
Yes, this system is suitable for double-sided banners. Double-sided banners are commonly used in street dressing and promotional campaigns where visibility from both directions is required.
When using double-sided banners, it’s important to ensure the banner size and material are appropriate for wind exposure. The spring-loaded arms help absorb wind forces, reducing stress on both the banner and the lamp post.
What size banners does it support?
This lamp post banner bracket system is designed to support banners up to 850mm wide, which is a common standard size for street banners. Banner height can vary depending on the pole length selected, allowing flexibility for different campaign requirements. Maximum banner height: 2000mm
For best performance and compliance, banners should be manufactured from suitable materials (such as mesh or heavy duty PVC where required) and installed within the recommended size limits to manage wind loading effectively.
