Not all ACM sheets behave the same. If you have ever noticed one panel cutting clean while another chews through blades or prints dull straight out of the box, you have already seen the difference.

After visiting the Multipanel factory this week, it reinforced exactly why we chose to source our ACM from them. This is not about branding or box ticking. It is about consistent quality, better fabrication, and fewer headaches for sign makers working to tight deadlines.

Worker in Multipanel factory

Made in the UK, Made Properly

Multipanel manufacture ACM in the UK using aluminium coils bonded to a 100% recycled LDPE core. Their production line is purpose-built and capable of producing up to 11 million square metres of ACM each year.

With the factory located just 50 minutes from our warehouse, the supply chain is short and controlled. Compared to imported ACM shipped from the Far East, this significantly reduces transport miles, handling, and carbon impact, while also improving availability when you need material quickly for a live job.

Why the Core Material Really Matters

One of the biggest differences between ACM panels is what sits in the middle. Multipanel uses pure recycled LDPE, rather than cores bulked out with calcium carbonate.

For fabrication, that difference shows up immediately. LDPE panels are lighter, less brittle, and cut more cleanly. They are also far kinder to CNC and router tooling, helping reduce blade wear over time. For sign makers running tight margins, that is a real, measurable benefit.

Brighter Whites, Better Prints

Multipanel uses Signal White, one of the brightest whites available on the market. For direct-to-substrate printing, this makes a noticeable difference. Brighter whites improve colour vibrancy, contrast, and overall print finish, helping printed ACM signs look sharper straight off the bed.

It is a small detail that has a big impact on the final result.

Consistency You Can Rely On

Multipanel controls the full production process, from raw material input through extrusion, adhesive application, and lamination. That level of control leads to highly consistent sheet grading, which is critical when you are quoting jobs and delivering repeat work.

They also offer some of the lowest custom MOQs in the ACM market, with bespoke specifications available from as little as one pallet. That flexibility suits project-based sign making far better than being forced into bulk stock holding.

A Practical Approach to Recycling

Multipanel is the only ACM manufacturer partnered with Perspex Distribution to offer a closed-loop recycling system. ACM offcuts are collected, de-laminated, and the LDPE core is shredded and sent straight back into the Multipanel factory to produce new sheeting.

It is a genuinely practical way of turning workshop waste into new material, not just a recycling claim on paper.

Why We Choose Multipanel

At Sign Trade Supplies, we source products that help sign makers work with confidence, deliver consistent quality, and avoid unnecessary issues under pressure. Multipanel ACM does exactly that.
