Flat cut sign letters are individual letters or shapes used in signage that are cut from a flat sheet of material, typically acrylic, PVC foam (foamex), ACM or aluminium. Our sign letters are cut using precision equipment including a large format CNC router & laser. The precision cutting results in sharp, clean and detailed edges. Recreating the supplied artwork perfectly every time.

Material Choices

Acrylic - The most popular choice for all round sign installations. Suitable for exterior and interior installations.  Our acrylic sign letters are cut from genuine Perspex cast acrylic which is available in a large range of standard colours and carries a 10 year UV material lifespan. With material thickness ranging from 3mm to 10mm, acrylic letters offer good product variation for end customers to choose from.

ACM - Aluminium composite material is constructed with a plastic core with 2 skins of aluminium laminated on each side. This provides an economy solution to solid aluminium letters. ACM is suitable for interior installations and short term exterior signage. With brushed silver and metallic finishes available ACM is often popular where the solid aluminium or stainless steel letter aesthetic is required.

PVC Foam - PVC foam letters are a great way to create impactful signage without a huge budget. The 19mm thick options are often used for interior office and retail branding. 

Wood - Becoming a popular choice for internal fitout, wayfinding and displays, Birch plywood offers a natural feel for sign installations. Suitable for interior installation our birch plywood letters are manufactured from BB/BB grade birch offering a high quality surface finish that has minimal patches and knots. 

Fixing options for flat cut sign letters

No fixings - No fixings applied or supplied with the letters.

Locators & paper plan - We supply the letters with either Snapfix or Simplefix male locators bonded to the rear of the sign letters and the female cups supplied loose. A paper drilling plan is supplied which marks all the locator fixing points that are required to install the female caps onto your wall. Once female cups are screwed to the wall the letters simply push fit into place. 

Double sided tape & vinyl plan - Permanent double side tape is applied to the reverse of the sign letters with a self-adhesive vinyl plan supplied. The double sided tape liner can be peeled off and letters applied in the matching vinyl plan. The adhesive is pressure sensitive and requires good even pressure to be applied over the entire letter face. Application surface should be smooth, clean and dry. *some internal paints are manufactured with silicones to provide wipe clean surfaces, these can cause adhesive failure.

M4 x 35mm studs & paper plan - M4 studs can be used for materials with a thickness of at least 10mm. 35mm long metal studs are bonded into the reverse of the sign letter allowing for installation into brickwork and uneven surfaces.
